Everyone thinks of going to a haunted house or watching an extremely scary movie to soak up the horrors of the Halloween season, but sometimes all the special effects and monster makeup in the world don’t go with the twisted stories that came from the brains of an author like Stephen King or Clive Barker. You are sitting there reading a creepy book when you hear a noise in another room and immediately feel tense.
Peter Larsen has put together a smorgasbord of wonderfully terrifying books Well worth a visit after speaking to experts in libraries and bookstores.
Speaking of books, Kelli Skye Fadroski speaks to Amy Bruni of “Ghost Hunters” and “Kindred Spirits” of Travel Channel about her book, Living With The Afterlife: 13 Truths I’ve Learned About Spirits, due out October 27. In the book, Bruni tells of her paranormal investigations and encounters with ghosts.
As with Bruni, if you get the chance to stay in the basement of the Los Angeles house where the first season of “American Horror Story” was filmed, you can potentially have your own ghostly encounter (allegedly paranormal events occur there regularly). People can have the chance to win a stay at home by buying tickets to a paranormal investigation of the house that will be broadcast live on Zoom. Kelli has more details on this.
