Srinagar: The three-day trekking camp ended on Saturday with the distribution of the certificates among the participants.
The trekkers, including young adventure tourists and travel bloggers, crossed the Sankhpal ridge yesterday and reached the Sankhpal summit (2780 m) from the base camp Sanasar with a total trek of approx. 17 km.
The three-day expedition was announced on Thursday by Director Tourism, Jammu, RK Katoch from Jammu.
30 trekkers took part in the camp, including travel bloggers and social media influencers.
They were accompanied by adventure experts from the Tourism Department and accompanied by Deputy Directors Pankaj Anand and Anil Kumar Chandail along with Dr. Umesh Shan, Deputy Director Tourism (NHW).
Adventure experts Amar Paul Singh, Rakesh Koul and Meenakshi taught the trekkers basic adventure skills during the camp.
The hikers paid tribute to the efforts of the tourism department to resume tourist activities in the area.
Preety, Vinod, Ashutosh, Ananya and Vikas Manhas, the hikers praised the role of the department and the way the camp was effectively organized by taking all COVID precautions.
At the closing ceremony, officials from the department reaffirmed the tourism department’s commitment to promoting Jammu tourism and asked attendees to use word of mouth – “HEAR-SAY” and their blogs and social media content to promote the destination.
