Agoda’s HygienePlus feature will be rolled out in time for the end of the year celebrations, and the Philippines will be approved as “Safe Travels” by the World Travel and Tourism Council.
M.anila, Philippines – Travelers look forward to packing their bags and heading out again, but not before checking the property’s hygiene and safety measures. According to a global study by the digital travel platform Agoda, “daily room disinfection”, followed by “daily disinfection (general areas)” are the most important hygiene measures that travelers expect from hotels and other accommodation providers. Other measures in the top 5 are “Provision of hygiene standards”, “Provision of a personal hygiene kit (masks, gloves, etc.)” and “Hygiene certification by the government”.
Agoda Hygiene Plus
While travel is slowly resuming across the country, Agoda is introducing HygienePlus, a new verification feature that shows travelers the health and hygiene practices of the accommodation providers on their travel platform. HygienePlus offers Filipino travelers the additional security of identifying hotels that meet a checklist of standardized measures – what travelers are looking for in the new normal. In addition, Agoda’s GoLocal campaign, launched worldwide in July, has great deals for Filipinos to discover their own garden the next time they travel.
Agoda’s survey found that “Hygiene Standard Listings” are a priority for Asian travelers and the number one hygiene measure in the world for travelers aged 18-24.
“People rarely travel again, but they need the certainty that the hygiene measures at their destination are strict. Hoteliers and lodging providers need to regain traveler confidence and have worked hard to put security in place. HygienePlus quickly and easily identifies hotels that guarantee a safe and hygienic environment. Of course, guests on Agoda can also check peer reviews of the cleanliness of the facilities to further confirm their decisions, ”said Omri Morgenstern, Chief Operating Officer.
