5WPR Named Finalist for PR Diversity & Inclusion Campaign in PR News Platinum Awards

NEW YORK, 19th October 2020 / PRNewswire / – 5W Public Relations, one of the largest independent public relations firms in the United States, is pleased to announce its work for client Homeis – a community-centric app that gives immigrants a digital space to connect with, a finalist for PR News Platinum Awards 2020 in the Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives category. The nominated campaign, run by the technology team, focuses on Homeis’ efforts to provide assistance to immigrants during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Homeis is the go-to place for hundreds of thousands of immigrants to find friends, lawyers, jobs, homes, and more through trusted referrals from others in their communities. At the start of the pandemic, Homeis forums were full of questions and concerns from the immigrant community over fears about accessible coronavirus testing and health care, ICE and more. The Homeis team worked with immigration and legal experts to answer these questions and quickly turned the application into a COVID-19 resource. 5W positioned Homeis as a point of contact for immigrants – an often overlooked and underserved community – to find all the information they need in one place.

“Diversity and inclusion are key pillars that make up 5W, both within our agency’s internal structure and in our client roster,” said 5WPR President of Business and Technology Practice. Matthew Caiola. “Homeis’ mission resonates with us and we strive to continue to produce work that reflects their efforts. We are honored to partner with Homeis and support their growth over the past year, and we are excited to see our work with them successful was selected as a finalist. “

The technology team secured significant national coverage in both English and Spanish language broadcasts and print media, successfully building brand awareness for the platform and causing Homeis to see a huge surge in downloads and new users. A particular focus was on connecting media to app users, creating stories of human interest and demonstrating the actual connections made by the platform by introducing those who cared for each other during the outbreak.

“We created a place where immigrants from all over the world can connect with people who share the same culture,” said Ran Harnevo, CEO of Homeis. “5W has been a great partner in bringing these stories to life and putting Homeis on the radar of so many immigrant communities.”

The winners will be announced at a virtual award ceremony on October 27.
